This annual invitational event was first organized in Year 2003 in collaboration with the Kuching North City Hall (Dewan Bandaraya Kuching Utara, DBKU) and takes place at Bukit Siol in Petra Jaya, Kuching.
Since Year 2003, the Sarawak Cycling Association and DBKU has successfully organized the race every year in conjunction with Kuching City Day celebrations that take place throughout the month of August.
In addition to being a part of the Kuching City Day celebrations, the race also aims to promote cycling and mountain biking in the State as a healthy family sport, promote Sarawak as an ultimate destination for biking activities, and to identify local talents who will represent Sarawak at national, regional and international competitions.
We will again see riders from throughout Sarawak, Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah, Brunei and Indonesia pit their skills against one another at the specially designed Bukit Siol Moutain Bike Track.
The race will be of extra significance this year as it has been declared as one of the selection circuits for Malaysian cyclists competing for a place in the 2009 Laos SEA Games.
